About The Word Channel
What is The Word Channel? WTLW is converting it’s broadcasting operation from analog to digital. Digital enables us to “multicast” or provide additional channels. The first channel to be added is The Word Channel, which will mainly consist of preaching and teaching of the Word.
What programs will air on The Word Channel? When launched, most of the programs will be encore presentations of the programs that currently air on WTLW’s main channel. Local church programming will be part of the schedule. The Worship Network will be featured during overnight hours. Additional preaching and teaching programs will be added as resources allow.
Why The Word Channel? This is a great opportunity to provide spiritual programming during hours when WTLW broadcasts family and sports programming. Also, viewers will have more options to watch their favorite ministry programs at times conducive to their personal schedules.
When will The Word Channel launch? September 1, 2008
How can I receive The Word Channel? This channel will be broadcast over WTLW’s digital stream only, so you must either have a digital television set or a digital to analog converter box to receive the signal. The Word Channel will not be initially carried on local cable systems, but you can request your provider carry the channel.
What is the Worship Network? Airing during overnight hours, this programming consists of worship music set to beautiful nature scenery. The inspirational aspect of this programming is a comfort to those who are unable to sleep or who are burdened with life problems such as infirmities or family issues. The purpose of the Worship Network is to create a peaceful atmosphere where the viewer can more easily experience the presence of God.
How will the Word Channel be supported? As a viewer-supported ministry, WTLW relies upon the faithful contributions of families throughout West Central Ohio to sustain our ministry. Commercial advertising will be limited on The Word Channel with the goal of the outreach being supported by the generosity of viewers who are blessed by the programming.
