Tough week for high school football players. We've confirmed that O-G stud runner Logan Kaufman is done for the year. 12-16 months recovery time after tearing his ACl, MCL, and PCL at Defiance. It will be interesting to see if the rumblings are true, and Coach Scrhiner spreads out the offense.
Meantime, Ada will be without 6'7" target Aaron Cross who broke his collarbone against Spencerville. David Allen tells me Cross hopes to be back by basketball season.
I've heard two of Jefferson's running backs suffered injuries in week 2. The rumor has Tim Sanders with a torn ACL and Aaron Schuerman with some kind of injury, but reportedly Schuerman is back at practice already. As for Sanders, I talked with Coach Ulm tonight and he told me he has an MRI scheduled for tomorrow, and that they won't know the results until next week. So, as of now, its just a leg injury.
LCC may be without Michael Lombardo this week, who has a bruised thigh.
St. Henry has been without starting QB Brad Stahl the first two weeks of the season.
Van Buren QB Josh Gilliland hurt his ACL in Friday's win at Arcadia. He was supposed to have an MRI over the weekend. I'm told best-case scenario is it's strained, worst-case, torn.
