Well, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, I certainly enjoyed a few days off and spending time with my family. On the drive back from Columbus last night, I got to thinking about something Coach Tressel said a few weeks ago. He was asked what one thing he took from last year’s Title game experience. The question genuinely stumped him, and remember this is the man who is never flummoxed, who teaches his players media relations and is always Senatorial smooth. After thinking for a few seconds, he finally said, he took how special playing for a National Title really is. I found that very interesting, after all, he won 4 titles at Youngstown St. (and lost 2 times in the 1AA title game) and had previously won it all in ’02. But he’s right. Season’s like this are truly special. I grew up a Buckeye fan, distinctly remember the 9-3 days of Earle Bruce, the constant choking of the John Cooper era, and yet here we are, 3 Title games in the last 6 seasons. It’s amazing.
